Take Me Out to the Ballgame

July 24, 2007

There is a minor league baseball team in Charleston, WV, called the West Virginia Power. Now, we lived in Charleston for 5 years and never went to a ballgame. So now that we have moved an hour away, we decided to go to one! We had a bargain…a coupon for a BOGO free ticket, and a free ticket that our friend Cara gave us. Skylar didn’t need a ticket anyway because kids 3 and under get in free, so we all got in for $8.00. Of course, the hot dog, pretzel, and 2 Pepsis added several dollars, but what’s a ballgame without a few snacks! There was free ice cream after the game, too. Unfortunately the Power lost the game, but we still enjoyed the day! The weather was great, and the game was pretty exciting. The kids got a little bored at times, though the food and the mascot helped occupy them. Overall, it was a fun day for all of us!

A Little Girl’s Quilt

July 11, 2007

The kids recently moved into their new bunk beds, and they really like them! Skylar has adjusted to being in a “big girl bed” very well. And of course Jacob relishes having the top bunk.

The quilt on Skylar’s bed was a wedding gift 13 years ago from my Aunt Lib (short for Olivia), who is one of my grandmother’s sisters. When I saw the quilt, I thought it would be perfect for a little girl’s bed, so I decided to save it. Aunt Lib passed away a few years ago, but now her quilt is on the bed and ready to be well used by Skylar.

It’s A Boy!

July 6, 2007

We had our 20 week ultrasound today, and we are having a boy! Baby is developing well and growing right on schedule, and we are thankful for that.
